I thought a thread with links on how to write effective subliminal scripts would be helpful to all of us making customs.
http://www.infinn.com/subliminal/howtowritegoodsubliminalmessages.html
Taken from above:
“There are several factors which affect whether subliminal messages will be effective.
The message should be in the first person (using I or me).
The message should be in the present tense.
The message should be positive and must not be the reverse of a negative. You should write the message as if you are talking to yourself. Your subconscious mind works in the present only so the messages should be in the present tense. You should prompt your mind about things you do want to think about and you should be careful not to remind it of things you do not want to think about. For example, if you write I do not want to smoke then the image which your mind uses is based on the word smoke and you are constantly reminded of this image which is not productive.”

Taken from the site above:
“Phrasing the subliminal messages correctly is the important part. You have to write the subliminal messages in the same way you think your thoughts. This where a lot of people go wrong and end up making subliminal products that don’t do jack. When you start to feel hungry, for example, you don’t think to yourself “Youuu are huuuungryyyy.” You think, “I feel hungry.” This is the same way you should phrase your subliminal messages. First person, present tense and involving the five senses. This makes them incredibly powerful and effective, because that’s the same way your mind thinks thoughts. When phrased this way, your subconscious mind can’t decipher between a subliminal message and an organic subconscious thought.”

“Scripts (messages) should always be positive. They should not impart anything negative that plants frightening or ambiguous messages into your subconscious. Yet another reason why you should know what is on the script before you buy the recording. Some experts believe that even saying the words “no” or “not” or “never” are not accurately perceived by the brain which instead reverses the sentences and makes them positive. In other words, a sentence such as “I do not like to smoke” may be perceived by the brain as “I like to smoke.” This has not been proven, but it is still worth considering.
Scripts should also be very short, simple, and direct. They should be single brief clauses with no conditionals such as “if” and “when.” They should always be in the present tense only, as future tenses tell the mind that you are not achieving something right now.”

I find this blurb the most controversial, and perhaps scary….
Have you guys read Trainer’s scripts? They’re full of longer and conditional statements, as are many of the ones users have written and are using. I know we are far, far, removed from a hard-and-fast science of subliminals, but if including conditionals are a cardinal sin of subliminal scripting, then it would imply we’ve almost universally been doing some of it wrong.
I mean… really… If conditionals are flat-out not to be used, then the process seems moot. If you cannot even add something as simple as, “….. with my husband” to a line, then it makes the system unusable.
So many people have had success though, which is why I am guessing that this wisdom is well intended, but not entirely correct.
07/08/2013 at 9:19 pmSo… just for fun, I applied these “rules” of subliminals to most of the scripts we have in our library, here at Dreamgirls. Wanna take a guess how it went? :-p
Essentially every file had one, or many “wrong” lines, if you believe these particular articles of subliminal writing. Considering I checked out the most universally loved files here… the ones that have reported the most successes by REAL customers… which had some of the most “errors”, I just have to believe these tips are to be taken with a huge grain of salt.
According to this… LHO Husband has way too many statements in the wrong tense, and with conditionals.
Wife Cock Sucker has conditionals, and complex/longer statements
LHO Husband also has negative statements
Submissive Thoughts Wife has conditionals, and tense problems…
etc….
So yeah… I think Trainer is doing a fine job, and that the “science” of subliminals is just far too narrow/young to be coming up with rules, yet. 😉
07/09/2013 at 12:56 amTrue. I think there are a lot of viewpoints from different so called “experts.” My point is to put out everything that’s out there and people can form their own opinion. I know people have had much success with LHO even though it’s mostly in the future tense. That’s why it’s difficult to know if tenses do matter.
Also, about the conditionals, my custom is loaded with them and is often complex. I’ve seen positive results with specific statements from my custom so I don’t think this is entirely true.
I do think from everything I read, the MOST effective script would be present tense, all “I” statements with short simple sentences, and a short script. This is difficult to do for all of our purposes so it’s what you want to believe and do for yourselves. I’d say, though, that Trainer’s I’m submissive sledgehammer is a short simple script, and at least for me, it’s had a great affect on my wife.
07/09/2013 at 2:20 amHere’s another one…
http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/writing-your-own-subliminal-messages-or-affirmations
“Be very specific. The subliminal messages should not be neutral. They should refer to the challenges; otherwise, they are not going to make any sense, and they cannot go much deeper into your
subconscious. It is also suggested that you make use of the first-person
pronoun—that is, not “you,” “we,” “us,” or “them.” After all, the
person who is currently in struggle is just you and no one else.”11/29/2013 at 2:27 pmMany of these so called experts seem to have no credentials or citations to scientific studies. I think conditionals are fine, in moderation. I have had success with using the word, when, and I think many of us have, as long as it is not overused.

I don’t see the advice as hard rules, but more as guidelines for a “perfect” world, which I’m sure we’re all aware doesn’t exist.
As for the credentials, I don’t expect to EVER see credentials for this kind of work. The kind of double-blind studies and peer review publication that would have to take place before there is even a basis to measure against for credentialing wouldn’t get past the “ethics” screeners in most accredited institutions.
11/29/2013 at 6:27 pmYou are correct fizbin with the ethics barrier, but we do have a growing body of evidence here in this community which I trust. these other sites just give blanket recommendations and have no backup, so at best this is info to experiment with. Thankfully with the forums we can learn from each other’s mistakes and successes and not just our own, expedites the process considerably. Trial and error, plus journals and information sharing is how we roll, and it’s been working, with each successive generation of new recruits having more of a leg up than the ones before.

I like you. 😉
The closer to proper scientific methodology we are as we chronicle our journey the closer we can be to finding a broader sample-set of what works, doesn’t, etc…
I agree completely.
11/29/2013 at 10:44 pmwe are more on par with the methodologies of a Da Vinci era scientiest, than the rigorous and slow methodologies of today. But this allows for effort directed partially by gut feeling and intuition, as well as personal discovery. I don’t see that as unscientific, I believe the root of gut feelings and intuition lies in the subconscious’ ability to crunch observational data over time and serve up clues to the conscious waking brain in the form of what seems like nebulous intuition.
11/30/2013 at 3:54 amTo me it’s all about common sense
From my view point I think of it as in thoughts to what she’s thinking or what she should be thinking in a state of mind in behavior.
I’ve learned that past and future tense can show encouraging results.
I now have a loving girl who’s willing to do anything for me.
We could also think of “You’
You want this or You need this.
You love your Husband.
Using “You” means you speak directly to you…
