Has anyone used a self contained playback speaker other than the Roker S-Cannon?

I bought the Roker on Amazon and the memory card will not seat. So I have to ship it back and wonder if i should just buy another one or look for something else.

I just use the google play music app on my phone and put it on loop. A setup like that is good enough.

I ended up getting another Cannon as well as a Picture Frame for her home office since she works from home a lot. While I was waiting for the devices – I spent some time researching NyQuist scripting (http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=58548&sid=7cd08c5b8d5acedc45b32e9d0aedcb53)

So i started off loading some files using that plugin. I got a LOT of squeaky background on the Cannon. So i went back to the original Nyquist Prompt and not the plug in.

Still get squeaks – way too many squeaks – even if i tone down the volume and up the carrier frequency.

Since the Pug ins do not really limit the upper end of the spectrum like the prompt does (was showing 24kHz as upper end in spectrum analysis) – could i have blown out the Cannon when i first tried it out?

Yeah I researched that plugin as well back in 2011 I believe. It didn’t workout for me either.

The squeaky background, have you tried to reset the settings or made sure it’s completely uninstalled?

To be clear the Cannon is the plugin or the picture frame ?

The Cannon is a Bluetooth/SD speaker.

I’ve found that many of these low-cost speakers (most of which are probably using the same electronics core) have some kind of digital signal enhancement that can partially (or even fully) decode the original audio from a subliminal track.

Ah, okay Cannon is a bluetooth speaker got it 🙂 Yeah I have a bluetooth speaker for my computer, nice setup but I don’t think it’s Cannon.

So, I’m thinking the squeaky background is caused by background noise with the added audio from the subliminal file. Try turning off the subliminal file and let the speaker run by itself with audio background.

If you still hear background noise it’s most likely radio signals, which the speaker isn’t magnetically shielded…

Try investing in a magnetically shielded speaker.

Well based on my experiences the last couple of days… the Subliminall.ny plugin in the link seems to do exactly as the nyquist prompt code referenced everywhere on this forum. Is easier to use since yo only have to put in the carrier frequency and it seems to process files faster.
