    Hi Trainer,

I truly appreciate that you want to raise awareness of various initiatives in Washington that could impact Internet freedom. These are important for everyone. However…
I’m not sure, but I suspect that that I am not the only person who is a bit frustrated with the increasingly heavy-handed notices you have been posting on the home page. Constantly having some “The government is about to do something horrible! Please join this online petition that the politicians will ignore!” alert taking up most of the home page was bad enough, but making it an overlay that blocks what we are really here to do EVERY TIME is one of the most irritating forms of any ad.
I personally feel that this is material that you could better highlight in your regular blog or announcement space. This gives you not only the opportunity to bring attention to the issue, but explain how you feel it could specifically impact the operation and enjoyment of the DreamGirls site.
    Thanks for listening!

Oh man Fizbin, you almost make me feel guilty :) But yeah I got caught up in all that awareness junk. The Gov dose this or that stuff wanting to impact internet freedom or whatever.

I’m not much of a political type of guy but I do know the Internet should remain free as it’s always been. Some guys in Washington think of the internet as a future cash cow they can use and spit up on. What we truly need is a Internet Bill of Rights not someone from, FCC telling us what we can and can’t do online.

I don’t think the FCC will last long but it was fun well it lasted. It is my idea that this new Bill of Rights will coexist with current US laws.

I’m just happy that internet fast lanes have died for the time being. And Comcast, Time-warmer merger is now dead.

In the near future it’s my goal to launch some type of new movement in favor of an open internet 😎

For now all do whatever I can to help support this free and open internet.

Thanks for voicing your option man all look into cutting back a little but where I can :)

Like I said, there is advocacy, and there is browbeating. I think maybe (especially with that overlay) you slid a little too far into the latter category. :) A blurb on the home page and/or a blog post is all you really need to get our attention. And again, especially the blog can let you go into some detail about what the particular issue is all about.

Right on man, thanks for the insight. I guess the blog is the best place for updates any awareness issues but I want to try and keep it all about Dream Girls just the same.

All have to think about how I want to handle this in the near future. Maybe a banner like I did in the past. What do you think?

Looking forward to the upcoming site updates and new subliminal ideas I have planed :)

I think a banner is totally fine, though I wasn’t bothered by the popup either. Looking forward to the new updates you have planned Trainer.
