I have been thinking about this for awhile now. My wife is pretty much accepted her role as my baby girl and calls me daddy throughout the day. So I was thinking now that she is this way would it be better to use my own voice instead of the text to speech? I have my own mic(Blu Snowball) and wondering if she would respond better since it would be my voice she would be hearing than someone else.
I have had good results recording my voice and playing files for my wife. She was responding very well to the text speech so I moved on to my own recordings. Keep content simple and repeat several times. Follow the scripts that are available to download. I started adding subtle changes over several weeks so that it flowed with the training.
I too have seen better result using my own voice as opposed to mechanically created voices. In my case I believe its partially due to her hearing loss – my voice is the one she can hear better than most. But none the less real progress only began once I abandoned those goofy computer voices and went with my own.
