Here is a question that has been on my mind a bit lately. When she (whoever) is in a trance, you are speaking directly to the subconscious, the conscious mind is set aside so to speak. When she listens to a subliminal her subconscious is picking up and decoding the subliminal. So, that makes me wonder that while she is in a hypnotic trance, can she hear a subliminal playing in the room? If so, that could help you set volume, check speaker placement and so on just by asking her about it and not having her remember the questions. Anyone ever try that? Still trying to get the wife to submit to hypnosis or I would try it myself.
haven’t tried that but if she is under hypnosis why not just use suggestions and reinforcements to create change?
getting your wife to accept hypnosis is a different issue. Without knowing your skill level I can’t make to many recommendations. But you have to have trust first or you will not have success. You might try some simple street inductions ad let her experience it for short time.
You could try, if you want to take the risk with your specific subject. (The risks range from not being able to “hear” it, to making her consciously aware of the messages, and therefore better able to counteract them, not to mention a significant abreaction if she finds the very concept anathema.)
In addition to Mandoplay’s comment, I will add that there is much that is unknown about just how subliminal messages work. I believe consensus (among those who bother thinking about it 😉 ) is that the mechanism is different from the anthromorphic subconscious that you access through hypnosis. Subliminal messages are less direct, more of a constant “nudge” or “whisper”, than a blunt, directive force.

I doubt she will hear it because physically, an adult’s human ears are incapable of deciphering sounds at a frequency of above 15,000hz. Those with better hearing would just hear the squeaking better. Whether she is in a hypnotic trance or not wouldn’t matter.
A dog would hear and understand it if it spoke the language. In fact, I have noticed when I’m playing my subliminal around dogs, they start barking at me. It’s like a dog whistle to them. I always try to turn my subliminals off around dogs as a result.
*Well, from what I understand the subliminals are up around 14k and would have to be in the hearing range to work at all. We have seen from other threads here that they do work so they must be heard and interpreted. What I had not considered was Fizbin’s comments about her becoming aware of it. Good idea to hash things out here before trying them..
